Bower, based at the Ongar Business Centre (OBC), are a national, multi award-winning later life adviser company specialising in equity release and lending solutions for the over 55’s. Bower began operating in 2006 as Bower Mortgage Company, focused on advising and arranging mortgages and protection policies. Later that year, they expanded their services to offer advice on equity release and became Bower Retirement. The company moved from their small offices in Brentwood to a much larger space at OBC in 2011. Recently, to reflect the growing and diverse market Bower Retirement has simply become known as Bower.
CEO Geoff Charles grew up just fifteen minutes from the Ongar Business Centre’s location, in the village Havering-atte-Bower. The word ‘bower’ can mean ‘helter’ or ‘protection’, which is exactly what the company aims to provide to its customers. Being so close to where it all began, Ongar Business Centre seemed like a perfect location.
How Bower has benefited from their move
Bower has expanded from a handful of staff in their small office in Brentwood to a much larger team of head office staff and advisers nationwide. In 2016, Bower grew their services by launching Bower Private Clients for the more complex needs of clients with propertlcs in excess of £1,000,000 and Bower Partnerships who look after our partners whom require the benefits of our service. Bower has carried on steadily progressing to assisting the diverse needs of a much larger client base and market.
